I am an ordained minister. I spent 11 years as a chaplain with the Pinal County Sheriff’s office in Arizona, and 2 of those I was the lead chaplain. My time there I have seen much death, tragedies, deep sorrow, and grief. I have learned that people can suffer from grief for many different reasons. I was married for 42 years and have 3 amazing grown children and 6 beautiful grandchildren. I am blessed and felt it was time to share how my faith has guided me through so much.
So I began this blog after hearing that small inner voice telling me to share, to help those dealing with grief due to the death of a loved one, loss of a pet, job loss, divorce, or other tragic life-altering events. Because our society does not allow us to travel through the grief process at our own pace.
When your life can change in a nanosecond it can be hard to catch your breath. I learned that when I came home from work on Nov. 12th, 2018 and found my husband dead in his favorite chair. The following days and weeks are a blur but I felt my journey could help others who are dealing with grief. My hope is that as I share with you my journey although it can be painful, lonely at times you are not alone. Even though everyone’s journey through grief is different it doesn’t mean it has to be alone. “I will never leave you, nor forsake you” (Hebrews 13:5) In his love, he will comfort you through his silent presence.
I hope you will subscribe to my blog, maybe you don’t realize you are on a journey of grief or perhaps just not ready to admit it. May my story all though different from yours be a guiding light and you can be encouraged to keep going, and may God bless you and protect you.
I am a child of God and I know that his grace is what carries me through each day.
