Dare to Dream

Have you ever been awakened in the middle of the night to a strange feeling but you’re not sure why? You have a thousand thoughts racing through your mind and they are jumbled with no systematic order, maybe you try to write them down only to find they are jumping around making no sense.

I’ve often wondered what life would be like if you never had a dream. What happens to those of us who as a childhood dream of being or doing something wonderful, but then somewhere along life’s journey it gets stuffed deep in our memories. Then one day you’re listening to a song, or speech, lecture, or teaching and out of the blue something awakens that dream. It reminds you that God gave you a dream because that was your destiny. Now, no matter what you do or how hard you try and stuff it back in your memory (or I like to say in a box on the shelf) you can’t seem to forget it. There is always something that brings you back to that moment when the dream was reawakened in you. But of course, you have doubts as to it becoming a reality so you begin searching and searching for answers. Second-guessing yourself the validity of the dream and your ability to make it happen.

Life these days is filled with chaos, uncertainty, and sometimes a little fear. We can get caught up in the duties of making money so we can pay our bills, provide for the family and maybe have enough left over so we can take a small vacation. But in all of that, we can lose sight of what God truly created us to be.

We’ve all been given a dream at some point in our life. What we do with that depends entirely on our self-worth, confidence, and faith. Somehow we can manage to talk ourselves out of following our dreams because they seem too big, to off the wall so we put them in a box and hope to forget them.

Our faith can play a huge part in waking those dreams. One day something stirs in you that makes it hard to forget and you wonder how you can make it happen. What I have discovered is that we can only do our part and let the rest up to God.

So what is your dream? What have you thought about since you were a small child or teen? Have you taken the time to listen to that small still voice deep inside your soul? Do you wonder what it will take to accomplish your goals, desires and how can your faith play a part in it?

Our faith is important because it gives us direction, guidance, and the knowledge to know that timing is everything. God’s timing is always perfect, we may not see things progressing forward as we want but we must have the faith to know that things are going on behind the scenes. Our job is to step out and follow-through. Because “God’s plan for you is a purposeful and abundant life.” Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; He’s the one who will keep you on track.

So dream big and reach for the stars what have you got to lose. Someone once asked me if I knew you could never fail what would you do? What would be different in your life than what it is now? Go ahead and wake up that dream, leap and the net will appear. You were designed for greatness.

I truly believe in God’s promises and I know that God’s got this and he will make sure everything will work out for his glory and purpose.

My life is in his hands and I am grateful that he has blessed me by watching over me through this journey of grief. So I am going to dare to dream.
